TPAC Connect

TPAC^TM Connect is the key technology that enables the TPAC^TM Framework to function. Using TPAC^TM Connect a Transport Enterprise is able to access its optimization capabilities from any location that has access to the Internet.

What is TPAC Connect?

TPAC^TM Connect is a server that provides a well-defined public interface to the TPAC^TM Optimizers. Using this interface a client application can schedule optimization runs to maximize the use of the available hardware. At any time TPAC^TM Connect can be used to query the progress of a run to estimate how much longer it has to go and whether the results produced so far are satisfactory. Once a run is completed TPAC^TM Connect will email to subscribers TPAC^TM Reports detailing important statistics about the completed run. With this knowledge a Crew Planner can decide whether to start another run or take a further more detailed look at the results by loading them into TPAC^TM Workbench.

Why use TPAC Connect?

In today's networked environment you should expect to be able to access a service from any location and with any device. TPAC^TM Connect makes this possible for the TPAC^TM Optimizers. TPAC^TM Workbench has its own built in client that can connect to TPAC^TM Connect to provide a rich desktop experience. Alternatively, TPAC Mobile, which is targeted at iOS (iPhone & iPad) and Android allows a Crew Planner to control, monitor and assess the quality of a run whilst being mobile. This frees up the Crew Planner from their desk allowing them to move more freely around the ops environment.

Performance

TPAC^TM Connect can handle hundreds of simultaneous sessions. However, typically an organization would only require a handful of open sessions at any one time. TPAC^TM Connect can also be arranged in a cluster fashion to spread optimization runtime load over a number of machines. This powerful capability means that the TPAC^TM Framework can be scaled up, by merely adding hardware to the network. This means that as your business grows so too can your optimization capabilities.
