What is TPAC Rail Crew?

TPAC^TM Rail Crew takes the user from the creation of the timetable through to the building of shifts, generation of Master Rosters, assigning individual to the roster lines and management of the crews on the Day of Operations.

About TPAC Rail Crew

TPAC^TM Rail Crew uses the latest optimization techniques to ensure coverage of all timetable duties with suitably qualified staff assigned to the duties. The optimization techniques used provide improved efficiencies for operators in the area of crew planning and operations. It provides user with the ability to assess each roster line as to the fatigue generated by the line for the individual.

TPAC^TM Rail Crew allows for quick resolution of train and crew changes with its decision support tools thus reducing the potential cost of disruptions. It provides the ability to produce solutions that are fair and equitable, taking into account all regulatory and safety rules and standards. It is the ideal tool to use for the “What Ifs” in the case of major changes to timetables or in the case of contract negotiations.

Modules

TPAC^TM Rail Crew consists of the following modules:

• Shifts – Generate optimal daily shifts to cover the train timetable whilst obeying workplace rules.

• Rosters – Combine shifts and staff availability to generate an optimal crew roster for a specified period.

• Operations – Crew planners can make the better decisions later to manage the crew on day of operations.

• Admin – Uses the crew’s actual shift and roster data for payroll purposes.

• Timetable Editor – Ability to modify and manage the timetable within the application.

Architecture

The software is based on windows platform and has been designed specifically for the Rail Industry and not an after thought emanating from other transportation areas.

TPAC^TM Rail Crew is a Multi user 3-tier system with an Oracle database and utilieses XpressMP optimization and Interdynamics FAID fatigue library.
